Patrick Burns is the founder of Motion Momentum, LLC, where proper flexibility and strength training keep people moving. Through his Virginia Tech education and experience as a mechanical engineer, Patrick has developed the problem solving skills and attention to detail required to train people with diverse needs and backgrounds. Making his home in Richmond, VA, Patrick enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle. Although happiest on a mountain bike, he participates in running and cycling both on and off-road. He is a member of the local road runners and triathlon clubs and regularly helps out with construction and maintenance of mountain bike trails in the area. An active age-grouper, Patrick has completed a variety of races including Ironman 70.3, Xterra triathlons, Flying Frog Sprint Adventure Race, marathons and the 7 day/250 km Coastal Challenge running race in Costa Rica.

His own rehabilitation from a rollover automobile accident at age 17 has provided Patrick with a strong sense of empathy and ability to connect with people as they fight their own battles against pain and disability. Truly an experience based understanding. The accident delivered a serious head injury that put Patrick in a coma for 25 days. The following twenty years of investigating health and healing have led to a true passion for helping others access their potential. After receiving a single session of Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), Patrick became uniquely connected with this technique. He has trained with the creator of AIS and utilizes those techniques to help his clients improve flexibility, stability and performance.
